Yes, I signed up with my UK credit card for Smartone 2 year contract when I arrived and then changed over to a HK issued one later. You’ll pay some forex charges on your US card – probably in the region of 1-2% of the monthly charge from Smartone

I think we should assume the OP is a Hong Kong permanent resident and the HKID card is not a problem. But the company would likely take a copy of his passport if not the case. The important thing is the credit card number, which gives them the $$.Edit: I thought he was getting the phone and then the plan, separately.
