TRANSUNION SECRET LENDER LIST | BANKS and CREDIT Cards That PULL From Transunion (MUST WATCH)

Too often, consumers will apply for loans or credit without even knowing their credit score or the contents of their credit reports. To leave it up to a bank or lender to approve or reject you based on information they know, but you dont, means a lack of awareness and control over your finances, at least where your credit health is concerned.

It could mean applying for a loan assuming you have good credit, but being turned down not realizing you have bad credit, now made worse because the hard credit inquiry from your bank dinged your credit score worse than it already was.

Dont wait to find out about your level of creditworthiness until after youve applied for a loan. Checking your own credit reports is the first, and most important, step to take before applying for credit. It lets you know where you stand and where to start improving your credit. The Fair Credit Reporting Act requires TransUnion, Experian and Equifax to provide you with free copies of your credit report once a year.I personally like to have my credit data readily available all the time, so downloading a credit-monitoring app is helpful because it gives you 24/7 access to your entire credit history without having to request it each time.

However, if you want your credit information straight from the source that compile it, your most official place is to obtain your report directly from TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. Choose from three avenues:

Re: Does Anyone Exclusively Pull Tu

Was in the same boat with you, went on an app spree and almost all of the inquiries went to Experian and my TU was 30 points higher with < 5 inquiries. Asked around and decided to apply for Barclays, they pulled TU only and the score was correct and rejected me nonetheless due to not enough credit history

Errors On Your Credit Report

If you find errors on your credit report, write a letter disputing the error and include any supporting documentation. Then, send it to:

Find a sample dispute letter and get detailed instructions on how to report errors.

The credit reporting agency and the information provider are liable for correcting your credit report. This includes any inaccuracies or incomplete information. The responsibility to fix any errors falls under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

If your written dispute does not get the error fixed, you can file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau .

Utilize Your Highest Credit Score

  • Sometimes your credit score can vary dramatically between the bureaus in which case youd obviously want to go for banks who might use your higher score.

Remember that just because one or two credit bureaus are pulled, your new account will still likely show up on all three of the major credit bureaus. This is great because if you only have one good credit report like TransUnion, you can leverage that one to get new cards which will eventually boost the score of your other credit reports!

Add A Consumer Statement

What credit card company pulls from Transunion

If the credit bureau confirms the information is accurate but you’re still not satisfied, submit a brief statement to your credit report explaining your position. It’s free to add a consumer statement to your credit report. TransUnion lets you add a statement of up to 100 words, or 200 words in Saskatchewan. Equifax lets you add a statement of up to 400 characters to your credit report.

Lenders and others who review your credit report may consider your consumer statement when they make their decisions.

What Credit Card Company Pulls From Transunion

I was looking for a credit card that uses TU only because I am in the process of cleaning my credit and EX and EQ have not updated all my information. I found a thread from 2015 that Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards uses Transunion only. I applied today 11/08/2017 and just wanted to update ppl that this information is still correct. My inquiry notification came from TU only.

If Your Application Is Declined Because Your Identification Information Couldn’t Be Verified

Make sure your name, address and other information provided on your Apple Card application is correct. If you find inaccurate information, re-enter the information as needed.

If you are asked to verify with an ID, follow these steps:

  • Make sure there is nothing between your device’s camera and your ID that could obscure any part of it.
  • Check that the Date of Birth, Last Name, and Address on the ID match the information you entered for your Apple Card application.*
  • Make sure the ID hasn’t expired.
  • After you complete these steps, submit your application again. If your application is declined again for the same reason, contact Apple Support.

Your credit score won’t be impacted if you’re declined, or don’t accept your offer. Your credit score might be impacted if your application is approved and you accept your offer.

You can apply for Apple Card again, but you might receive the same decision.

If you want to receive a different decision on your application when you apply again, you should review your credit report to see if you have conditions that might result in a declined application and then check for these common errors in your credit report.

*If the information on your ID doesn’t match the information you entered for your Apple Card application, try to apply again after you update your ID.

    What Is A Credit Pull

A credit pull or inquiry is a request by a retailer, financial institution or any other individual to view your credit report. Third parties can pull your credit report to review your creditworthiness and other details before extending credit. There are two types of credit pulls, hard inquiries and soft inquiries. Only you can see your soft inquiries, but hard inquiries are visible to anyone who looks at your report.

Anytime a potential lender looks at your credit report, a hard credit inquiry occurs. An example of a hard inquiry is when you apply for a mortgage and the lender pulls your credit report to determine your worthiness for extension of credit.

On the other hand, a soft inquiry occurs when a routine check is performed on your report without your permission. Soft inquiries happen when a creditor youre currently working with checks your credit to ensure youre still creditworthy or when you check your report yourself.

Fixing Errors In A Credit Report

Anyone who denies you credit, housing, insurance, or a job because of a credit report must give you the name, address, and telephone number of the credit reporting agency that provided the report. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act , you have the right to request a free report within 60 days if a company denies you credit based on the report.

You can get your credit report fixed if it contains inaccurate or incomplete information:

    • Contact both the credit reporting agency and the company that provided the information to the CRA.
    • Tell the CRA, in writing, what information you believe is inaccurate. Keep a copy of all correspondence.

Some companies may promise to repair or fix your credit for an upfront fee–but there is no way to remove negative information in your credit report if it is accurate.

    Using The Credit Pull Database

The Credit Pull Database is extremely easy to use.

Just and youll be able to search by the following criteria:

    • Consumer State
    • Date applied
    • Approved

You do not have to select all of the details. I selected Texas and Equifax and found credit pulls data points for the following banks:

    • NFCU
    • Random comments

The comments can be really helpful because you can find out if people were approved with things like bankruptcies on their credit report. Also, if there were multiple credit bureaus pulled sometimes people will report them in the comments.

Why The Data Matters To You

Theres a reason why you have three FICO scores from all three credit reporting agencies. Each one uses its own credit criteria, so you may end up with three different scores.

For instance, you could be on the cusp of fair to good credit, but the bank youd like to get a loan with rejects your application . Why? Lenders may have used your Experian report/score that ultimately reflected more of the negative aspects of your credit history versus the information contained in your TransUnion report.

So, its important that you know which credit bureau a particular bank uses in its credit pulls since most banks are not likely to reveal which agency they consult with for credit checks. It could make all the difference in increasing your loan approval odds versus having to look for another lender.

All Three Of Your Credit Reports Are Equally Important

The information on your credit reports can be a vital part of your personal finances. Good credit can make it possible not only to obtain new credit, but also to obtain affordable credit.

But, not all credit reports are the same. The information on each of your credit reports can vary based on which bureaus receive reports from your creditors, as well as which bureaus previous lenders have queried in the last two years.

Since you cant always accurately predict which credit report or, in many cases, reports, plural will be used to evaluate your credit risk, its best to ensure you maintain all three of your credit reports to the best of your ability.

You should also endeavor to check all three of your credit reports on a regular basis to look for mistakes, outdated information, or potentially fraudulent accounts. While you can purchase your credit reports at any time, you are also entitled to one free credit report from each bureau once a year through AnnualCreditReport.com.

Heres How To Get Chase Credit Limit Increase With A Soft Pull:

    • Chase will only do a soft pull if they offer you a credit limit increase. If you request one, theyll do a hard pull.
    • Issuers tend to increase credit limits no more than once every six months. You can apply as often as you want, but youre unlikely to be approved more frequently than that. And keep in mind that each request may cause a temporary dip in your credit score.
    • Youll have the best chance of getting an increase if you use your credit card regularly and consistently pay your bills on time and preferably, in full.
    • Updating your income information on the Chase website will increase the odds of Chase offering you a higher limit with a soft pull.

Even though a Chase credit card limit increase requires a hard pull if you request it, it still could be worth it. If youre a strong candidate for an increase, the opportunity to lower your credit utilization could be worth the temporary credit score damage.

No, the Walmart Credit Card will do a hard pull. You will need a credit score of at least 700 to get it, which is better than what most store cards require, but you will be able to use it anywhere Mastercard is accepted, which is pretty much anywhere.

You can check if you prequalify for the Walmart Credit Card on Capital Ones pre-qualification page, which will not affect your credit score as it will be a soft pull. However, if you do prequalify and want to get the card, you will need to submit an actual application which will result in a hard pull.

What Do The Credit Bureaus Say

Closing a Credit Card Account | TransUnion

As you might expect, the three credit bureaus decline to disclose which card issuers purchase their credit reports. Similarly, the Consumer Data Industry Association, a trade group representing credit bureaus, says it also is unable to shed light on the credit bureaus used by card issuers.

Tip: A hard inquiry lowers your credit score, albeit by a small amount. This is because it can send an uncertain signal to a potential lender. For instance, why did you apply for new credit? Are you going to max out a new credit line? This is why its important to only apply for credit when you need it.
