Amazon explicitly says no credit/debit card needed for Kindle purchases
This is an interesting one to me, but some of you may know it already.
You need 1-click to be able to buy books for the Kindle. 1-click typically draws from a credit/debit card.
Now, if you have a gift certificate/card and apply it to your account, 1-click draws from that before it goes to your credit card.
In the past, Im pretty sure you needed a credit/debit card on the account, although you could later apply gift cards/certificates.
Now, Amazon explicitly says you do not need a credit/debit card, although it appears as though the user interface isnt clear when you do it.
What you do is go to your account, and go to
Manage Addresses and 1-Click Settings
Next, click the button to Enter a New Address.
Then, you would enter the address , and then
Set the address as your default by clicking the link on the address labeled Click here to make this your 1-Click default address. You may be prompted to associate a credit or debit card with the address, but entering one of these payment methods is not required.
There you go! You can set up 1-click without a credit card.
After that, you apply a gift certificate/card to your account, and you are in business.

Purchasing A Fire Stick
The first thing you need to know is this: if you buy your Fire Stick from Amazon using a standard Amazon account, itll likely come preloaded with your Amazon account credentials. That means youre better off purchasing a used Fire Stick from somewhere like eBay or Craigslist, or just picking one up through Amazon on a second account.
You can always deregister an Amazon account, which removes your account from the device altogether. For some, this may still seem like an invasion of privacy, but if youre that worried about Amazon knowing what youre doing with your device, you probably shouldnt buy a Fire Stick at all.

If you already own a Fire Stick, you can skip this step. When you buy the device from Amazon, it will already be connected to your Amazon account. This means that Amazon will be aware of who purchased the device.
Its still possible to de-register the account afterwards, but Amazon will have the purchase in their database.
To protect your privacy as much as possible, you should buy the device from sites like eBay or Craigslist. This way, there wont be any connection between your account and the device.

Setup A Separate Amazoncom Account For Kindle Fire
If you use the Kindle Fire or you have more than one Kindle Fire, you will want to make sure your child has a separate account for their Kindle Fire. This way you can assign a default one click payment option without affecting your normal 1 click and accounts.
If you only have 1 Kindle Fire or have tied to your account only and want to keep it that way, then you can just set your default 1-click payment for the Kindle Fire to what is explained in Step 2.

Amazon Kids+ provides a couple of benefits over the regular Amazon Kids offering that comes with all Fire tablets. Amazon curates content and makes it available to children through the Fire tablet, so that they have access to age-appropriate books, apps, videos and web content.
This opens up the range of content that’s available to children, allowing them to make some additional selections, like accessing more books, without parental intervention. Unlike the content you might assign, this is all verified appropriate by Amazon. You retain the ability to add more content, as above, if you want to.
It’s worth noting, however, that books that you download through Amazon Kids+ don’t then appear on a Kindle linked to that child’s profile.

S To Use Kindle Without Amazon Account
In order to use Kindle without Amazon account, you need to deregister your Kindle device and this can be done by going to the Settings app on your Kindle device.
Note: Once your Kindle device is deregistered from Amazon, you wont be able to download Apps from Amazons App Store and you wont be able to use most of the stock Amazon apps that came pre-installed on your Kindle device.
1. Open Settings on your Kindle Fire and tap on My Account
2. On My Account screen, tap on Deregister
3. On the pop-up that appears, tap on Deregister to confirm
Once you tap on Deregister in the pop-up, you will be signed out of your Amazon account and your Kindle device will no longer be associated with an Amazon account.
As mentioned earlier, once your device is deregistered, you will no longer be able to download apps from Amazon app store or use stock Amazon apps.

Best Way To Setup Kindle Fire For Kids
I have been heavily vested in the Kindle Fire in recent weeks and am even gave away 2 Kindle Fire gadgets in a contest that is ended last week. But in learning and experimenting with the Kindle Fire I came up with the best way to give it as Christmas presents to my two kids who are 8 and 4 years old.
The Kindle Fire had a few limitations that made it less than ideal for little kids, 1 is that it required a credit card tied to One Click Purchase to the account the Kindle Fire was registered too. You needed this credit card setup even to download and install free Android apps for the Kindle Fire.
The second is that you cant put password protection on purchasing apps from the App store on a Kindle Fire, this would have potentially allowed my 5 year old who can only read a little from randomly installing apps and charging my card for them.
