During or at the end of your program you may wish to travel outside of the U.S. Canada and Mexico are typically the most popular travel destinations outside of the U.S. Most participants with multiple-entry visas to the United States may apply for tourist visas to travel to Canada or Mexico. Remember that you must have a multiple-entry visa if you want to leave the United States, and you must return to the United States before the expiration date on your J-1 Visa and DS-2019 Form, otherwise you will not be permitted back into the country to continue your program or catch your flight home.

You must also contact InterExchange at least three weeks in advance of your departure to have your DS-2019 Form signed by a responsible officer of InterExchange. This signature indicates that you are in good standing with the program. You will need to have your DS-2019 Form signed by a responsible officer of InterExchange in order to facilitate your re-admission to the United States after a visit to another country.

Why Is My Application Is Not Being Processed In Can+ Expedited Program
Even though you qualify for CAN+ expedited program, your application may take several days to process. Application process took more than 30 days for some readers with travel history to Canada and/or hold US visas. There are many factors involved and ultimately its at the discretion of CIC whether to process your application quickly.;
My advice is to just follow the regular processing time line. Check the current processing times and apply well in advance.

Tn Visa For Canadian Citizens
To create better relationships between countries in America, the U.S in cooperation with Canada and Mexico created the North American Free Trade Agreement . This agreement, besides its economic and trade benefits, also has traveling and working advantages on a TN visa.
The TN Visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows citizens of Canada to live and work in the U.S temporarily. The holders of this visa have to return to Canada upon its expiration. This visa allows only citizens of Canada and Mexico, not permanent residents, to work in the U.S if they find a job beforehand.
A distinct feature of the TN visa is the fact that there is no need for sponsoring from the employer. This makes the fees for the employer and employee very low. The employer does not have to pay the listed fees as in the H-1B visa, except for the Form I-129 petition fee and premium processing fee of $1,225.
