How Can I Get My Visa

Don't Miss

Pay The Visa Application Fee

If I Overstayed On My Visa, Can I Still Get A Green Card? | Immigration Law Advice 2021

The visa application fee is also called the Machine Readable Visa Fee, or MRV fee. Make sure to review the fee payment instructions available on your embassy or consulate website as methods may vary. In general, however, there are three ways to pay the non-refundable, non-transferrable visa application fee:

  • In person at an approved bank
  • Online

During your research, dont worry if you come across the term visa issuance fee based on reciprocity this does not apply for F1, F2, M1, M2, J1 and J2 visa applicants.

Youll be asked for the MRV fee receipt when you get to your visa interview appointment. Some J visa applicants will not need to pay application processing fees if participating in a US Agency for International Development program or a federally funded educational and cultural exchange program with a program serial number beginning G-1, G-2, G-3 or G-7.

Go To An Official Biometrics Collection Service Point

You must give your biometrics in person.

Due to COVID-19, we may have extended your deadline to give your biometrics.

  • Check the most recent communication you got from IRCC to see how much time you have to give biometrics.

Tips to get the best photos and fingerprints during your biometrics appointment

  • Keep your hands henna-free for your appointment.
  • Let temporary injuries, cuts, cracks on your fingers heal before giving your biometrics.
  • Avoid wearing light color clothing or head gear. Wear bright colours instead.
  • Head gear is allowed for religious purposes only. However, when you have your photo taken, your whole face must be clearly visible.

Note: If we cant get high quality fingerprints during your appointment, you may need to give your biometrics again at a later date.

Arrange An Appointment With The Visa Application Centre

Make sure you allow enough time before your departure date to schedule an appointment to have your application reviewed.

Check on the average appointment wait times to ensure that you are able to submit your application three months to two weeks prior to your departure date for a long stay visa and 6 months to two weeks to your departure date for a short stay visa.

In most cases, the consular services use external service providers to receive visa applicants and their documents. The consular services nonetheless remain fully responsible for reviewing applications and making visa issuance decisions.

You will find all the necessary details to make an appointment on the country of application page.

Buying Products To Resell

I know youve probably heard about this method, but if you havent, here is how it goes.

The technique not only offers you a chance to get cash out of your Visa gift card, but you can also make some extra money. In essence, its about taking advantage of great deals.

Platforms like PayPal allow you to pay for products through prepaid gift cards, and various retailers accept online payments.

Therefore, you can make an online or in-store purchase using Visa gift cards through PayPal.

If you spot a deal that is ideal for a product you can buy, you can do so and then resell the product at a profit or at a breakeven price to get your cash.

This can be a great option if you are able to get cheap deals for useful products that you can later resell.

I Want To Travel Outside The United States But My Sevis Record Is In Terminated Status May I Return If I Travel

If you need to travel on a terminated record, you must talk to your DSO. A DSO who has requested a data fix will put your Help Desk ticket number on your Form I-20 and report your pending travel to SEVP.

There is no guarantee that CBP will readmit you to the United States if you travel on a terminated record. In most cases, CBP will allow you to re-enter the United States if you are otherwise admissible and your DSO has properly annotated your Form I-20. It is likely, however, that CBP will send you to secondary inspection while they determine whether you are eligible to return to the United States.

    Showing A Long Itinerary

Can I get my Visa medical test done in Abu Dhabi if I have ...

Always show a short itinerary. An itinerary of 15 days or less is more realistic. Anything longer than 15 days may raise questions such as why you would need that many days.

If you show a long itinerary, you may be asked for additional proofs such as leave approval letter, no objection letter from your employer or proof of additional funds in your bank.

The visas are always issued as per the guidelines. It doesnt matter how long or short your itinerary is, your visa will be granted for the stipulated amount of days. Showing a short itinerary avoids unnecessary questions and additional documentation.

Example: Say, as per the visa guidelines, a visa is valid for 3 months that grants a 30-day entry. And say, your itinerary for the visa is 15 days. You will still be granted a visa valid for 3 months with a 30-day entry.

Using A Sponsor For Your Visa Application

If you are using a sponsor, the weight of the application is on the sponsor. The success of your visa approval is completely dependent on your sponsor.

Factors such as your sponsors track record, legal status, tax obligations, prior visa denials, etc. come into play. If you dont know your sponsor well, you may be taking the risk.

In my option, you are better off applying for the visa on your own. As long as you have employment proof, sufficient funds in the bank and , you dont really need a sponsor.

Can You Get Money From Selling Your Gift Cards

Can I Get Married on a Tourist Visa? (Then Adjust Status)

The answer is yes. The first consideration is that you may want to sell your gift card to friends and relatives first. If they dont want it, you can turn to a number of websites like Prepaid2Cash or MyGiftCardPlus to sell your gift card.

Just make sure that the site is legitimate so that you dont end up getting scammed out of more money or lose your gift card.

Also make sure that by the time you do sell your card, that it hasnt expired. The last thing you want is to sell your gift card to someone and have it be completely expired.

To ensure this doesnt happen, list your gift card weeks before the expiration date to ensure you have enough time to sell it.
