Capital One Savorone Student Cash Rewards Credit Card: Best For Entertainment Seekers

6 Easiest Credit Cards to Get

Why we picked it: Students can rack up rewards in categories they may already be spending on, such as dining, entertainment and streaming services. Plus, this card offers a best-in-class return on non-rotating bonus categories among student credit cards.

Pros: The bonus categories this card offers will click with some students existing spending habits, and the rate of cash back is extremely generous for cards in this class. In addition, students wont have to worry about an annual fee or foreign transaction fees.

Cons: If you dont spend money on the cards student-focused bonus categories, youll probably see more value from a flat-rate student rewards credit card. Undisciplined spenders might also find the ability to earn ample rewards distracting while trying to build credit, particularly since the bonus categories largely focus on discretionary spending categories.

Who should apply? Students who already spend some of their budget on streaming, dining and entertainment while being able to commit to paying balances off in full each month will find this card quite generous.

Who should skip? If the bonus categories dont align with the cardholders spending, this card wont provide much value.

Spark Cash & Spark Miles

For business owners with excellent credit, there are four different options: two different Spark Cash cards and two different Spark Miles cards. Within each family, theres a rewards card with no annual fee, and a second card that earns more rewards and has an annual fee.

The Cash cards earn cash back rewards, while the Miles cards earn miles. These miles can be redeemed for travel purchases at a rate of 1¢ each, or they can be transferred to a variety of airline loyalty programs where they might be worth more than that.

Based on our research, the only reason to get a Spark Miles card over a Spark Cash card is if you want to transfer your rewards to a partner airline program, or if you like the 5X categories.

The Seeker Of Convenience

Want a cash back card that you dont have to think about to get great rewards back? The Quicksilver and QuicksilverOne cards have the same across-the-board cash back offer, although the QuicksilverOne has an annual fee and no sign-up bonus in exchange for only recommending fair credit.

What Happens If You Have Two Credit Cards

IS The CAPITAL ONE SECURED CREDIT CARD DEAD?….[ YOU MUST WATCH THIS]

This is a good question to ask yourself. You may well think, “I have one perfectly good credit card. Why would I want two or more? Are the people who have two credit cards or more crazy?”

Maybe, or maybe they’re crazy like a fox.

The truth is, you can have two or more credit cards and see your finances go down in flames – or you can have two or more credit cards and save a ton of money. It all depends how you use the credit cards.

So what happens if you have two credit cards? Well, let’s game out some scenarios.

A lot of good things might happen.

Of course, with two credit cards, bad things can happen, too, if you aren’t careful.

  • You could max out multiple credit cards. It’s bad enough owing a lot of revolving credit on one card, but if you have a lot of revolving credit on two, you probably have a serious debt problem on your hands. Better to put off getting a third credit card unless you apply for one that allows you to transfer the balance and pay a 0% APR for a year or so, while you get your debt problem under control.
  • You could see your credit score plummet. Again, if you max out everything. If your credit utilization ratio starts looking really shabby that, too, could lower your credit score.

Still, whatever happens if you get two credit cards, good or bad, it’s really up to you and simply depends on how you manage your money.

How Many Capital One Business Credit Cards Can You Have

We contacted Capital One support directly to discuss per-person card limits, and heres what we got: You may not be approved for additional accounts if you have 5 or more open credit card accounts with Capital One. This is consistent with what appears in these cards terms.

So you can have up to five Capital One business credit cards open at the same time, as long as you dont have any other open credit card accounts with Capital One.

Heres What Happens When You Upgrade Your Capital One Credit Card:

When you upgrade to a different Capital One card, your current APR and credit limit will remain the same unless it states otherwise in your upgrade offer. Your card number will remain unchanged as well, but your CVV and expiration date will change, so you will need to update any automatic payments. You should receive the new card within 7 to 10 business days.

A Capital One credit card upgrade is a good idea for people who have outgrown their current card, changed their spending patterns recently, or dont want another hard credit inquiry on their credit report. Capital One does not pull your credit report when processing a credit card upgrade request, so theres no need to worry about a hard credit pull. Capital One also allows upgrades between products, such as upgrading from a cash back card to a travel card, which can give a cardholder new rewards-earning opportunities.

But its worth considering that upgrading to a different credit card will most likely make you ineligible for any introductory APR periods or bonus offers that would otherwise come with the new card. The upgrade offer will state this before you accept.

How many Chase cards can you have?

So, while you might not see this policy spelled out in a Chase cards terms, as Chase has posted and subsequently removed such language in the past, it would be unwise to gamble on it not being in effect.

What You Can Do After Overpaying Your Credit Card

Earn 2X Rewards With The Capital One Venture Rewards ...

If you overpay your credit card account, you wonât lose the money. In fact, you have options if you overpay your card.

Spend Down the Credit Balance

You could choose to spend down the credit balance.

Think of a credit balance like an account credit. Just use your credit card like you normally do, and your credit card company will apply your credit balance to any new balance. Eventually, you wonât have a credit balance.

This is an easy way to handle overpayments because you donât have to do anything out of the ordinary.

Request a Refund

If you have a credit balance and want the money back, you can make a written request of your credit card company for a refund.

Requesting a refund could be a good option if you need the credit balance back in order to pay other bills. It could also be a good option if the credit balance is on a credit card you donât use often.

If you overpay your credit card by more than $1 and request a refund, your credit card company must send you a refund within seven business days of getting your written request.

And even if you donât ask for a refund, your credit card company must try to issue a refund if you donât make any other purchases for more than six months.

It Could Raise Your Credit Score

Your payment history comprises up to 35% of your credit score. If you only have one credit card account on which youre making payments, that paints a narrower payment picture than making payments on two accounts. With only one account, if you make one payment each month, the most on-time payments you could make in one year is 12. With two accounts, you could make 24 on-time payments in a year, which tells an even more positive payment story. Just make sure youre managing both accounts responsibly and getting at least the minimum amount due in on time on both accounts every single month.

The other way a second credit card could raise your credit score is by lowering your , which accounts for up to 30% of your credit score. A second credit card gives you more available credit, which can lower this important ratioso long as you dont run up outstanding balances to the point where they negate any benefit additional credit from a second card provides. You typically want to keep the ratio of how much you owe on a credit card in relation to the cards credit line below 30%.

Its worth mentioning that, when you actually take the step of applying for a second credit card, your credit score could drop by a few points when the card-issuer does a hard inquiry to your credit reports. But this minor drop can be quickly offset byyep, you guessed itmaking consistent, on-time payments.

Capital One Is The Best

Capital one is the best bank you could have, mini mini years ago I had a bankruptcy and they offered me a card and I was hesitant at first but then I decided to take them up on it and its the only one Ive had since and its the only one Ive ever used, I want to be loyal to them because they showed loyalty and trust in me. They have great services on their credit card side, they have great safety protocols built-in to the app on your phone, they give notices for different things if you like, you can turn off and on your credit card from your phone theres so many things that they offer theyre really the best!! I called in a few times for service they are very friendly, very courteous and extremely knowledgeable, Ive had really bad experiences with Citibank and Bank of America I would never deal with those two banks again for any reason. Capital one, you are the best all of you! Im doing this review very quickly on the phone so if you see grammatical errors its because Im dictating to the phone and Im in a hurry and the phone prints what it wants lol if youre wanting bank services or a credit card the service is exemplary and you should definitely check out capital one!

How Applying For Multiple Credit Cards Affects Your Credit Scores

Whether youâre trying to build or rebuild credit or earn rewards, it may be tempting to apply for multiple credit cards at once.

After all, itâs common to get multiple rate quotes on other types of creditâincluding auto financing and mortgagesâto find the best deal. And if you shop around for auto loan or mortgage rates over a short period of time, it might not affect your credit score much at all.

As the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau explains, âWhen lenders offering the same type of loan request your credit score within a time span ranging from 14 to 45 days, it will only count as a single inquiry, depending on the credit scoring model used.â

With credit cards, however, each application could result in a separate hard inquiry. Just one hard inquiry may temporarily lower your credit scoreâtypically by a few points. But too many hard inquiries could have a more significant effect on your credit. Why? Because, as the CFPB explains, âIf you apply for a lot of credit over a short period of time, it may appear to lenders that your economic circumstances have changed negatively.â

Keep in mind that there are multiple credit scores and scoring models. And scoring companies like FICO® and VantageScore® have different versions of their own scores. So you might see slight differences in your score depending on which model was used.
